Coronavirus has impacted the entire world and created many new challenges. During this unprecedented time, it has never been more important to provide leadership, solutions and assistance, while remaining flexible. Therefore, Shark Explorers will continues to adapt to new protocols to meet the demands of this ever-changing environment.
With regards to COVID-19, there are various legal requirements, approvals and restrictions in every country. Consequently, and in following guidelines provided by the local government, WHO, SSI DAN (Divers Alert Network) and the RSTC, Shark Explorers have adapted (and will continue to adapt as required) to ensure your safety while doing what we love.
We request that you please also adhere to WHO (World Health Organization) guidelines for social distancing, and wearing protective masks.

As a result of COVID-19, Shark Explorers have implemented the following commonly accepted and recommended practices with regards to the COVID-19. These Simple measures can easily help us protect you and others from not only COVID but other communicable diseases.
Principally and unless otherwise posted, public access to the Dive & Training Center will be limited to customers either diving, in-training, purchasing equipment or by appointment. Companions (either family members or friends) without intention will not be allowed in the Diva and Training Center. Please note, if you suffer from any of the symptoms related to COVID-19, we kindly ask that you refrain from approaching the Dive and Training Center:
- Tiredness or muscle pain
- Respiratory problems
- Sore throats
- Lung infections
- Loss of taste
Additionally, if you have recently returned from travel or been in contact with a potentially infected individual, please contact your physician to be tested before entering the Dive and Training Center.
Our Dive and Training Center will avoid large crowds by limiting the number of people based on the number of square meters allowed per person.
We will conduct a COVID screening (including taking your temperature) upon your entry into the shop and document the date you visit the Dive and Training Center. The form will record your name, address and mobile number and email address to immediately contact you in the case of a possible infection.
Additionally, by signing the health declaration, you expressly agree to disclose your data to the proper authority.
The legal basis for this document is Data Protection Basic Regulation (GDPR), Page 6, Paragraph 1,
Bullet Point F, which gives you the right to complain to a Data Protection Supervisory Authority.
If you disagree, been in contact with a sick person or feel you could have COVID-19, please cancel your dive or training appointment.
We have provided sanitation stations within the shop and will have hand sanitiser available on all our vessels. Please make use of these regularly. We also request that you comply with keeping your mask on at all times and adhere to social distancing.
We would like to assure you that all our gear is cleaned and sanitized after each use. Our regulators and BCD inflators have been sanitized per the recommendations from DAN.
We still recommend that should you not have your gear, that you purchase a mouthpiece (available in the shop). We will gladly fit and remove your mouthpiece to the regulator you will use and remove it after the dive so you can take it home with you.
Diving from our vessels
Please note that for your safety and the safety of the other divers we request that no spitting in the masks is performed for anti-fogging of the mask before the dive. We have Anti-fog available to purchase in the shop or ensure that you bring your own. For cage diving, we will provide Antifog for the masks before use.
We have made the appropriate changes to all course practical skills and all instructors have been briefed and trained on these.
